Our Frequently asked questions

Our Pool Void Covers® system are specifically engineer-designed to comply with Australian regulations. Used on existing or new sleeper pools.

There are a number of components to a Pool Void Covers® system, these include:

  • Beams – running across the width of the pool. Specified to Australian engineering standards, and removing the need for acrow props. Acrow props can damage the pool floor surface.
  • The Void Cover Panel – available in a standard range – or can be custom built upon request. These are a sturdy platform that are mounted onto the pool beams. The number of panels is determined by the width and length of the pool to be covered.
  • All of our covers are a full lock down system – that can only be removed with tools.

We can cover a small plunge pool to a large commercial swimming pool – our systems are modular so can be made as small, or as large, as you require. Our 225kg SWL Scaffold Rated Pool Void Covers® can cover a pool waterline width of up to 7 metres, without the need for acrow props. The length of the pool is unlimited, we have covered lap pools to over 30m+ length. Used on sleeper pools whilst the house build is completed.

Our system is the number one choice for ensuring your pool is safe whilst work is being undertaken in the pool area. The system can be installed for long periods at a time – allowing for peace of mind from knock down rebuild and house building to lock up stage.

For existing pool owners – when major works are being undertaken on your property – this system meets all safety regulations; ensures a safe working environment for the contractors; and provides a safe area whilst existing pool fencing may be removed.

In addition, depending on the distance of your pool from your house, you may need to cover the pool when contractors/builders are working on your roof, or when scaffolding is required around your house build.

In addition, the system has also been designed, so that for existing pools, it is easy to install, and causes no damage to your existing pool upon installation and removal.

The normal applications for the Pool Void Covers® system are:

  • Developers and designers – Project management, allowing for a 100% safe work environment for staff and contractors;
  • House Builders – Removes the need for pool temporary fencing, allowing contractors to undertake their work safely. In addition, when the contractors leave at night – there are no fences to put back up to ensure a safe zone.
  • Home Owners – Your new house builder/site manager will advise you on when you will need a Pool Void Covers® system. We deal with all major builders across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane – and understand all of the different state regulations and requirements that are needed for your new house build.
  • Whether you are having your house built from new, or undertaking development, or having a KDR (Knock Down Rebuild), the Pool Void Covers® system allows the peace of mind that your pool is fully protected and secure whilst you have renovations and work undertaken.

The cost is dependent on a number of factors – the size of the pool, the safety rating you require, and the duration of the rental period.

No, we do not retail our systems – as we are a rental company.

Our systems are designed and manufactured by us in Australia.

The system has been designed to be easy to install and remove, but due to the high risk of our business – working at heights, building site requirements, working near open water – our systems are only installed by our in-house teams – who are trained professionals and had the appropriate training.

After install, the system is signed off with an Engineering Certificate.

The time to install the cover depends on the access to the pool area, and the size of the pool to be covered. Installation can take from 30 minutes for a small plunge pool to 2 hours for a larger pool.

The simple answer is yes, we can cover any shape pool, and any type of pool.

We have different systems to adapt to your own requirements – so if you have a feature wall, or a waterfall feature – or a large rockery alongside the pool – we can still install a system to meet your requirements.

Our in-house engineering team will review your requirements and come up with a system for you.

There are a number of manufacturers of plunge style pools that have different loading requirements, and we modify our systems to meet the pool manufacturers designs.

There are some unique style of pools on the market, and some do not allow you to put any weight on the side of the pool at all. This can be an issue if you need to put scaffold over the top of your pool.

We have designed scaffold rated engineered Pool Void Covers® that are ‘floating’ and do not even physically touch your pool.
